Our Pastor & his Family

Jeremy
Jeremy is a lively, energetic preacher who preaches with a passion for the Word of God. He met Kim when he was 16 and they married 7 years later. Jeremy loves Basketball, but claims he has given up playing (any child over the age of 5 who plays basketball in our local park will tell you this is definitely not true!).
Jeremy Sandy became Pastor of Goldings Church at the beginning of the New Millennium, January 2000. Jeremy had been aware, since the age of 16, that God was calling him to be a preacher. Before entering into the ministry Jeremy ran his own security company providing security officers to McDonalds, Burger King and Wimpy - mainly in central London. He also ran a Christian Bookshop, but was notorious for giving away the stock free of charge.
When Jeremy became Pastor of Goldings, his eldest son Benjamin was 7 years old, Joseph was 3...and Rachel hadn’t even been born!
In January 2010 Jeremy celebrated his 10th Anniversary at Goldings and was delighted also to see the start of a new era at Goldings with the introduction of a godly group of elders to assist with the ministry.
Kim
Kim actually met Jeremy at her baptism - he was being baptised on the same day! Kim is an author and has written a children's fiction book called, 'Slam Dunk Into Reality' (ages 9 - 12 years) published by Christian Focus Publications. She hasn't published anything for a while but believes God is calling her back into writing soon. Kim enjoys art, music, writing and computers. She does most of the admin at Goldings, and she created and maintains this website. She is also a British Sign Language Interpreter and like Jeremy has a real heart for deaf people. Kim plays the guitar and enjoys table tennis (and can beat Jeremy!!) she also teaches in the local primary school once a week.
Benjamin
Benjamin is now 17. He loves reading, (his favourite authors are currently H.G. Wells and John Steinbeck). He loves the computer and is passionate about playing the electric guitar, acoustic guitar, semi-acoustic guitar, and classical guitar (note the common denominator!) He now plays lead guitar in our worship services, and is also a rhythm guitarist in his school band called Evanition. Ben plays classical guitar with Redbridge guitar ensemble, and he also plays the piano. Ben also plays the double bass for a jazz band. Ben enjoys working out in the gym, table-tennis, and badminton.
Ben is now an A Level student studying Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Music and Critical Thinking.
Joseph
Joseph's ambition is to be as tall as his big brother, Ben. He is 13 years old and is the much adored brother (and occasional enemy) of his little sister Rachel. He is quick witted and has a great sense of humour. Joseph plays the drums and the bass guitar— he plays the drums in our church worship band. He first played drums publicly at a wedding when he was 11 years old. Joe also plays drums for his own school band 'Good Riddance', and writes their songs and musical arrangements. Joseph loves being BOTH a little Brother and a big brother. His name means, ‘God shall add another Son.’
Rachel
Rachel is 7 years old and loves having 2 big brothers at her beck and call. She loves dressing up in her room and changes her clothes several times a day (guess you could blame that on the British Weather!!)or until someone yells STOP. Rachel loves to pray for the people who she loves, and has been known to pray emergency prayers when she can’t get her hands on any chocolate. Rachel is a family girl, and very loving. She wakes up singing at the top of her lungs and has a sunny personality. Rachel describes herself as an 'action girl' - she loves being out on her bike, skateboard, skates or playing tennis or going swimming. Rachel plays the piano and is showing a great interest in the guitar (read that as 'pestering big brothers for lessons').
