Mission to Barcelona
12th November - 17th November 2009
Pastor Jerry, Eddie, Ernest John Beaney, John Tebboth and Vince were invited to be involved with the work of the mission run by Pastor Saleem in Barcelona. During this trip Pastor will be preaching several times and will also be baptising seven people. Watch this space for daily updates on their work and please pray for them.
November 12, 2009 (Thursday)
Update 1
The team arrived at Barcelona Airport at 6.30pm our time, but its 7.30pm in Barcelona. They met with Pastor Saleem and enjoyed a welcome at the Emanuel Centre followed by supper with local people. Pastor Jerry was able to share the Word of God. A text from the team says they enjoyed a good flight and are now getting tired. They are staying in a place called 'The Village of Cannovelles.' More updates tomorrow.
November 13, 2009 (Friday)
Update 2
Pastor has been in contact, he says they all had a bit of a rough night but are thanking God for a roof and full belly. Eddie and Vince have been praying for people and spoke yesterday. Pastor has spoken in a meeting and says John Tebboth led an excellent Bible Study for the team devotions. Ben is hunting for hair gel since he wasn't allowed to take his on the plane! They are going to be in Barcelona City today serving food to homeless people.
8.00am Departure to city centre
9.00am Breakfast at Emanuel Centre with homeless people
11.30am Prayer meeting with volunteers.
1.30pm Lunch at Emanuel Centre with volunteers
3.00pm Meeting (Father’s business) at Emanuel Centre
6.00pm Visit to cell group of Pakistani community in Santa Coloma de Grammanet.
There will be a time of worship mainly in Urdu, some prayers and singing in English as well. Rev. Ernest Kamran will share the word of God.
8.00pm Dinner with Pakistani community
11.00pm Bed time.
Update 3
The team had a fairly quiet morning but busy afternoon and evening - Pastor has been speaking and the team has been praying with lots of people. We have also received news of a serious situation regarding Ernest. He has lost his bag containing his insulin and other medicines; passport; bible ; bank cards, money, diary and camera full of pictures taken in Barcelona. Ernest has asked us to pray for him - he is praying that God might miraculously return his bag to him by the morning. Pastor asks we also pray for John T who has been quite weak and tired following his recent illness.

Wonderful news - John Tebboth is much better. Pastor says that the police in Barcelona have helped Ernest greatly and are very hopeful that the bag will be recovered. Please keep praying. Benjamin has posted some pictures!

3.00pm Distribution of packed and tin food at E.C Barcelona
7.30pm Worship and service in spanish church where Pastor will preach.

November 15, 2009 (Sunday)
Update 5
The team are all well and happy. They spent yesterday giving out food to homeless people and Pastor spoke at a spanish evangelical church. Benjamin has sent the following pictures. The team have a busy day ahead today with a service which includes several baptisms.
8.00am Breakfast in Canovelles.
11.00am Time of prayer and Praise with the Word of God preached by Pastor.
12.30pm Baptism Service.
2.00pm Lunch with newly baptised born again Christians.
7.00pm International Service and get together.
Pakistani, Spanish and some other nations people will get together in the name of Jesus and have service and fellowship together. Pastor JS will share the Word of God.
9.30pm Dinner
11.30pm Bed time.
November 16, 2009 (Monday)
Update 6
News from the team states that they have been blessed by the powerful testimonies they heard and the baptisms that they were there to witness. Four people were baptised in total. Our thanks to Ben for the pictures below.
Sadly John Tebboth is still battling with his illness and a decision has been made to send our dear brother home early. John should be flying back today. Pastor reports that the team have been enormously blessed by his daily bible studies.
Meeting Pastor Marcus has been a highlight for the men from Goldings - it is reported that they all loved him and have enjoyed spending time with him. He appears in th photos below with Pastor Saleem and Pastor Jerry as they baptised people in the Meditteranean Sea.

As mcst of their work is now done there is some time for relaxation and sightseeing today.

6.30pm Visit to Pakistani Youth in Barcelona
